planning a new build just wondering if anyone has any better suggestions I've been told the power supply is overkill.

The people who told you that PSU is overkill are right. Just go for a EVGA G2 550W.

 

And don't go for WD Green, a Seagate Barracuda 2TB will do just fine.

im kind of an itx fan

im new to pc building this will be first one im building n my girlfriend has moved in with me so i need to space so it has to be small but still pack a punch im hoping that this will be perfect

Okay, you could get a lot more bang for your money. I went with an E3-1231 v3 because it's just an i7 without iGPU, which you won't need anyway.
