I'm getting a new SSD today that I will be migrating my OS and files to.

2 Questions:

1 How to I image my current SSD to the new one to make everything work as if nothing happened,

2 Does it matter what sata port my hard drives are plugged into? Everything is mapped to C: D: F:, but if I plug my F into a different port on my MoBo, would that screw things up?

Thanks

2. I think not, You name your HHD or SSD not the port.

I tried imaging and cloning my OS disc to my new SSD, but it seems not to work properly...

My current SSD is 120gb, the new one is 1tb, but when I clone or image over, it partitions it to be 120gb. I want to migrate my OS drive to the 1tb and have all 1tb for the OS drive...

Thoughts?

Yes, you can alter the size of the 4-5 parts  you clone (don't image). If you don't know how, I'll post a vid that shows it.

I tried adding another 800gb to the main partition and it said it would turn it into a magic disc or something, and then it said there wasn't enough space on the drive. (I did this in disk manager)

A magic disk? Please show me, I need a bit of magic in my life.

But seriously, I know you can add extra space with the software when cloning to sertain partitions (see this vid:

)

And I think you can add a new simple volume in diskmanager in the open space, without erasing it if that doesn't work for you.

Thanks, that worked. I missed the re-size of the partitions.
