I was bored today so I decided I wanted to test to see if different power supplies with different level of efficiency and quality would cause the power draw to change when used on the exact same PC. I created this video where I use my old PC with 4 different PSUs from various ages and manufacturers.

Short answer I found if you don't want to watch my boring video is that between the low price bundled power supply and a more modern name brand there was a 15% different in how much draw came from the wall with a high load on the system.

I should do another test where I load it up with all the hard drives full and a higher end graphics card to see if the disparity is higher or lower when the power usage is higher.

Honestly, this may be common knowledge and everyone may know this but I never really pay attention to power supplies much and thought it would be fun to make a video.
