Hiya!

I'm new here!

I'm looking to build my first PC and here is the list

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/LL4DD3

Updated list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WndC3C

Any and all feedback would be awesome! My budget is just under that so any cost-saving would be cool too!

Thanks!

You're welcome to look up the benchmarks yourself, but the 950 will outperform the 370 by a decent margin, and it shaved a good chunk of money off the build.  Double bonus if you ask me.

Ah, thanks!

I updated the main post.

Any other changes?

Then I'd ditch the hdd and switch to an affordable SSD. I know you loose capacity but the amount of time you'll save is ridiculous. No more waiting for load screens or transitions. And definitely no more going to get tea while your computer starts from start-up. If you don't care about that as much then no changes needed.

I think having an HDD will be better for me. I don't mind the loading times. Maybe later down the road I can save up to add an SSD.

I'll give you my reasoning on this, keep in mind the last time I recommended this I was ostracized by the youtube or twitch gamers because it doesn't mesh with their prerogative. I use my desktop for short tasks and gaming, both benefit from less waiting. I rely entirely on an SSD to accomplish this. I remove games I'm not playing and reinstall them when I want to play them. It's as simple as that. I use ssd accompanied by sd card to load my photos directly to cloud storage online and then delete the ones I don't care for. You get what I'm trying to say about HDD capacities?

Yeah I understand.

But doesn't the re-installing and all be a bit of a pain?

Maybe a little later I'll look into a 120GB SSD for the OS

This being said is perfectly acceptable for not getting an SSD. I'm not here to pressure you into getting one. Just stating the benefits I've gained from them. I have a western digital blue drive that just sits on my shelf doing nothing at this point because I made the same decision originally. But I agree with you're decision and feel that If you need it you'll get it when you need it.

I appreiciate it, thanks!

Also with bigger more popular games like Witcher or Grand Theft Auto they will be larger games overall which might mean you'd only have one installed at a time.

I concur with @TheRomanSenate, if you're gonna save for an SSD, go for a 256 one. With just a few apps and  games I'm already 100GB on mine. Note that you need to get these games on the SSD to minimize load times. But yea, if you're short now you can defer to get it later. But be advised that you'll have to reinstall your OS to the SSD. (or just clone it if that floats your boat)

Switch out that keyboard with this one:

its a little more expensive but it is a whole other level of performance and you can change the keycaps and do everything like that.

Also, there are cheaper cases that will save you a few dollars
