C++ GUI / Text editor

I'm thinking about try to make a text editor for some experience in programming, but I don't know where to start with GUIs. For the gui aspect I'd want something similar to sublime text but I don't think Qt would work for that. Awesomium looks cool but I don't think it would be all that useful right now either. I'm not good at enough to do this in C++ now, but I might try it in the future. Any suggestions?
