Bootable windows 10 wont boot?

Go to solution Solved by FreezingMan,

Finally got a fresh copy of windows to install. I read online that basically when you get to the windows logo you just leave it... There is literally nothing else on screen its just black with a blue windows logo and no status indication AT ALL. So i left it for 13 minutes before it actually started doing the next step to install. So now its installed.

Now when i try to open programs or access anything i get this message http://imgur.com/hiwDsmL . For some reason there are two accounts? both have administrative powers but both keep givng that message? Im really starting to hate windows 10. Any idea what the hell is going on here????????? Please help

So im trying to install a fresh copy of windows 10 using a usb 3.0 flash drive on my older computer (xfx 680ilt q6600) and i've used rufus to create a bootable USB and i've changed the boot order to boot from USB but it just goes straight into windows. Even when i try to enter the boot menu on startup it wont show anything for removable usb devices... I've never had this happen with windows 7 before. Is the problem with usb 3.0? should I have used a usb 2.0. The flash drive is brand new just got it today from newegg. Im totally lost here

The USB device you used is fine, but for the sake of removing any possible variables, make sure you're using a USB 2.0 port. Furthermore, can you verify that the .iso was mounted to the flash drive properly? Open it in Windows and see if all of the files are on it. Then, do not set your boot order to the USB device, but simply boot override from the BIOS onto the device.

This computer is old enough that usb 3.0 wasn't around then, so im safe for usb 2.0 ports.  I originally downloaded the iso directly from microsoft using windows media creation tool and it created the USB for me. After that didn't work i did a quick search and it seemed rufus was the best alternative because i was reading a few posts on a different site that were saying usb 3.0 flash drives wouldn't boot... but rufus would enable that. I can see all the files on the USB flash drive. "but simply boot override from the BIOS onto the device" what do you mean by this?

check boot order in bios, is usb device even an option? not all older motherboards support booting from a usb drive. If USB isn't in the boot priority list you are out of luck. Also, make sure you have written to the drive in bios mode (its one of the settings in rufus), depending on how old your mother board is, it may not support uefi.

Yes removable usb is an option. Its an older board its not from the 1970's though It doesn't support uefi although rufus does both as far as i know. Im acutally using "windows 7 usb/dvd download tool" right now because its what i used to use for windows 7. I'll see if that works better than rufus.

Did you try with rufus set to just bios mode?

I don't think that is an option.  Also that windows usb program didn't work either I'm in the same boat.  Is it possible it's just usb 3.0 not bootable on my pc? I know I've used usb 2.0 on this pc before for booting an install

it definitely is an option, and its possible but very unlikely that its the drives fault. USB 3.0 should be fully backwards compatible with USB 2.0

its not an option to just select bios unfortunately. Its either both or not  http://imgur.com/egm3huh  yes it should be for sure... I've tried 2 different flash drives and different ports (they are all usb 2.0 ports) and it still wont boot from usb :(
