I want to upgrade my current rig to a more "ultimate" X99 build. This will be my first water cooled PC. Do I first build it as an air cooled PC for a certain period of time as a break in period? Or can I water cool it from day 1. I am going to splurge on the parts first to make this dream a reality

If you know what you are doing and test all the parts, then you could water cool it immediately.

You can watercool it whenever you want, there is no "break in" for this.

theres no break in period for pcs, though its best to test them on aircooled before you watercool so that way if somthing is wrong it wont take long to switch out. though you can watercool right off if you want to

thank you. I wont be water cooling from day 1. Going to splurge on the parts then splurge on the water cooling equipment. I just cannot find it and it may exist. I wish I can tell a website what parts I want to water cool, which radiators, and tubings, and it will provide me fitting options.  As it currently stands this PC will be in a corsair 900d, I want to water cool the CPU, and 2 x 980 Tis. I am thinking at least one radiator in the top, and one in the front...so unsure though of what is good to have and at which point this will be overkill. This is where I can rack my brain and have so many options....help or links would be great

use ek blocks they are good and everyone recommends them and their site is easy to navigate. though if you need help im sure people around here will help. im planning a waterloop for my 5820k and 980ti at tax time, but things like fittings dont come cheap

Also remember if you don't find the fittings you are looking for on Ek's site look at the Primo Chill Revolver fittings.

Thank you so much  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  I am going with 2 x EVGA 980 Ti ACX 2.0+ and i7 5930k

ok gonna be a long list lol so imma put them in a spoiler

OK the first 2 are specifically for x99 cpus so these are direct fit and require nothing, just put them on and they are set

https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-supremacy-evo-x99-full-nickel

https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-supremacy-evo-x99-nickel

All these WILL fit 2011(-3) cpus which is x99 as well, but these are for a number of different processors so you will likely need to change the jet to optimize the water flow for x99. the jets are likely included with it

@ses0713

im sorta having problems trying to find a 980 ti block for the EVGA 980 Ti ACX 2.0+.... sucks, but don't lose hope, the titan x waterblocks fit your version of the 980ti, whether you want to put titan x blocks on a 980 is your choice but i will say they fit. Proof here http://forums.evga.com/Watercooled-EVGA-GTX980Ti-SC-ACX-20-SLI-m2355179.aspx as well as searched a few links on google, so you should be good. the only thing is that the block will say titan x on it instead of 980ti but that will be facing down. also went through ek's configuration on their site and the recommended the titan x block as well so theres more proof.

ek's configuration as well for proof

https://www.ekwb.com/configurator/step1_complist?gpu_gpus=1692

they wouldn't recommend it if it wouldn't fit. sp the list of blocks that i will post is the same as the ones in eks link above

https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-fc-titan-x-acetal-nickel

https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-fc-titan-x-acetal

https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-fc-titan-x-nickel-original-csq

the blocks above are full gpu blocks not the half blocks that cover the main parts of the gpu.

also since your gpus have the backplate already theres no reason to buy others unless you want titan x backplates as well. but yours will work fine, look at the evga link i gave in the begining of this post for proof

sucks that there is no 980ti block for your evga card, but at least the titan x block is a direct fit. it just has titan x engraved
