I think I f'd up. (Please help)

So last night I was testing some overclocks on my GPU (GTX 750Ti) while running Unigine Heaven, I managed to get a solid +275 memory AND core clock, I ran it for an hour, played some games for a while, temps ran at a stable 65-66 C, I left my computer on (I turned off the overclock) for a little to download Elder Scrolls Online and GTA V, I set it to shut down at 12, (I left the computer at 10:45) which it didn't, my dad turned off my computer around 12:30 because for some reason it didn't shut down, he claimed there were a bunch of programs that were open (I made sure everything was closed except the 2 things downloading). Now, when I woke up this morning and started playing some games, they were hardly running, ESO was only able to play at low around 30 FPS, and GTA V was running on low at about 30-40 FPS, I didn't think much of it other than maybe they were CPU intensive (since I don't have an amazing CPU, AMD Athlon X4 860k.) but when I looked at my core and memory clocks, they were insanely low even though I had my overclocking preset on, my memory is at 405 MHz (it should be 2975 OC'd) and my core was 135 MHz (it should be about 1418 OC'd). I don't know if I destroyed my card, or if there's something I can do to fix it. responses ASAP are much appreciated, this was my first build and I'm worried I really screwed something up

Those are typically the default clocks when idle. For some reason your card must not be clocking up when it gets some load. What program where you using to overclock it? Sometimes this happens to me if my graphics driver crashes the clock will stay at 135mhz but a reset will fix it for me. It could be that some program you used disabled your gpu from turboing automatically in order to use the preset that you set.

SNIP

Reset to default, restart PC then check things are working on stock, if they are then overclock again. Possible your OC crashed and it wen't weird, happens to my 970 from EVGA sometimes.

Honestly can't tell exactly what's wrong, but it sounds like a driver issue. Your GPU is being underutilized so you can rest somewhat easier that it isn't physically broken. I would try updating/reinstalling the drivers.

You gotta do you girl. I always say you gotta do you. And if he's doing him, then who's doing you? Because right now, it seems like no one's doing you.

Yes but usually the numbers you mentioned (425 for memory and 135 for gpu clock) are typically what most gpu's stay at when they aren't under load. So it's probably not an issues with the card, but with it not going up to the proper clock speeds when it gets under load. Like the other people said, try resetting and see if they go back up to normal under load.

I don't think your set up would handle gta v at 30-40 fps at idle clock speeds, depending on settings and resolution of course. Are you monitoring your GPU while playing or checking logs after you play? Have you tried alternative overclocking / monitoring software? If it makes you feel better, it's very unlikely you damaged your gpu

Oddly enough, restarting my computer a second time worked, I think earlier when I put it to sleep (to go outside and shovel snow for like 2 hours) that might have messed something up because I was told it turned on by itself while I was outside. :P I can always count on the LTT forums to save the days with my petty issues with answers that are so simple I overlook them them. before I restarted I benchmarked my GPU and got a 900, my original score was 3800.

Wait. So everything is fine now?

Yup. seems so

Always test your overclocks with stress testing software, Valley benchmark for several hours for the GPU then Firestrike, for the CPU use Aida or Intel burn test AVX for pre skylake processors.

I have no reason to OC my CPU right now, I have a power supply that is literal shit, and I need it to last like 5 more months til my birthday so I could get like a nice corsair 80+ bronze, seeing as my PSU right now isn't even 80+ (I was on a tight budget)

PLUS I only have one operational fan exerting air, since I only have 1 chassis fan connector on the motherboard, Im ordering a splitter to get my other one working within the week, so the additional heat isn't great, my idle CPU temps are ~44 C, under load I think theyre around 55ish

I know, I appreciate the insight, im just stating that the information about stress testing CPU OCs have no real use to me right now :P

Not yet, but it will.
