Hello Everyone.

I have almost completed my first build,

I7 6700K, A170-A, 16gb DDr4, AMD R9 390.

My initial plan was to get a Samsung evo 250 SSD to boot from and a 3TB WD black Mechanical Drive for storage.

However

is it worth spending a little extra and getting this

http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Storage/SSDs/M.2+PCI-E+SSD/256GB+Samsung+SM951+M.2+PCIe+NVMe+High+Performance+SSD+?productId=64851

and using that as a boot drive (if that's possible) and using the 3TB WD black as storage.

also would these work with my setup (above).

Thank you for any help you might be able to offer

Rich

Not really, the extra speed you get is only worth if you have extra programms that benefit from it.

In my opinion games/windows start don't improve noticable, so get a higher capacity instead for the money (i.e. the 850 evo or a sandisk 400 sth for black pcbs)

I personally wouldn't get it. I'd just go with what you said or with the toned down Blue as recommended.  M.2 won't offer that much more but it is definitely faster than SATA since it is directly in the Motherboard and it cuts the middle man (The cable).  It'll save you money.
