amd eyefinity problems

hi

i have a msi Radeon HD 6870 hawk and GPU i have problems with eyefinity. i only can use 2 monitors.

its not detecting the third monitor. i have 1 mini display to vga and 2 dvi to vga (i know it sucks) but can i make it work with 2 mini display to vga and 1 dvi?

So there are a few limiting factors with older GPU's and eyefinity.

Some of these may or may not be applicable to you.

You can only use 2 of the DVI/HDMI outputs at one time. (If you have 2 DVI plugged in you can not use the HDMI port; 1 HDMI & 1 DVI means the other DVI port doesn't work.)

To use eyefinity you must use active adapters to convert a signal, So the signals coming from the card are the same.

 

Do your monitors have any inputs other than VGA?

First of all, there are no AMD GPUs supporting Eyefinity that cannot utilize at least 3 monitors.

 

Second, i would take a look at the AMD software, maybe there are some settings you overlooked. I cannot help you with this bit, the last AMD i had was the 7970 and i only went for two monitors back then and drivers have changed.

 

Third, if all else fails. I would try to use the two DP ports + HDMI/DVI. You may need to use adapters.
