Hey all,

I have an 8-port TP Link that I have connected to my router, computer, laptop (hardwired), and ps4. My question is whether or not I could just attack an external hard drive to my TP link via Ethernet with a USB to Ethernet adapter. Or can I just plug my HDD into my router with a USB? I want to be able to store content on my hard drive from both my laptop and computer without having to unplug and plugin my hard-drive to different computers.

Thanks,

        JarJar

Hey there jjar35,

If the router supports that you should easily connect the drive to the USB port and allow you to configure the drive to act as a NAS and be accessible over the network from other devices. I'd consult with the manual or the support of the router's manufacturer and see if the router itself supports that. :) If it does it's simply a matter of settings.
