Hi,

I have just finished setting up MAC OS X El Capitan on Windows 10 via Oracle VM VirtualBox. However I can't switch the resolution of the display.

I can't change it in OS X because of the SIP and I can't get into Recovery Partition to disable it.

However I realised that OS X will set the display resolution to the native resolution of the display but VirtualBox is being a b***h and not letting me change the virtual display resolution.

Any ideas why?

VB will change the size of the window to match the size of the output resolution. Im not sure why you cant make the resolution larger on OSX (have you enabled 3D acceleration and given your VM the minimum recommended VRAM ?)

But why is there an option in VB to change resolution if it doesn't work?

(don't vorry about the language)

In OS X El Capitan there is a feature called System Integrity Protection aka SIP, whitch doesn't allow apps like SwitchResX to change resolution. I could turn off SIP if I could boot into recovery mode. But I can't maybe my timing is wrong but sounds aren't coming through VB, whitch I don't know how to fix.
