Hi guys,

So, I'm in the process of saving up for a new PC however I'm debating buying the GTX 980 TI and putting it in my current build and then transferring it to the new build when I get it.

My current specs are -

650w PSU

Core i7 4770

8GB Ram

GTX 770

Is it worth buying the 980ti now and using it whilst I save for the rest of the computer or should I just buy it all in one go? Only reason I ask as I've been told my CPU isn't that bad and shouldn't bottleneck the 980ti so they said I should get the 980 now and the rest when I can but I wanted some other opinions.

Thanks,

Dan

Edit - Should probably add, the reason why I'm getting a whole new computer is because my motherboard is pants, it's the Gigabyte h81m-h.

Yes. It doesn't change anything, as long as your psu has the power cables.

Which I'm assuming it does as the 770 has the same connections as the 980ti.

Man, I can see I'm in for a bumpy ride learning all the ins and outs of PCs but something I'm looking forward to!

While a 980 ti is great, I'm waiting to see if Nvidia releases any new gpus this year (which they most likely will). I'm waiting for the successor to the gtx 980. (which would be 1080 maybe, if they continue the naming trend)

As I said, I'm new to the PC market, would you suggest waiting? Or will the new GPU range be alot more expensive than the 980ti?
