It's a Win 10 thing. I guess it provides a degree of security that programs can't set themselves as default but it is annoying AF.

From the Windows start menu, go to Settings, then System, then in the left-hand list click Default apps and scroll the right side down to find 'Web Broser', Click the + sign to assign a program.
