Water Cooling GPU's

Why do some people water cool GPU's they can handle up to 90 degrees Celcius on air. How hot do they get when you overclock them?

Some that I can think of is lower temperatures. If using a 7xx series from Nvidia GPU boot 2.0 correlates with temperatures. The cooler the card the higher it can boost its self up. Also water cooled cards are quieter.

It looks really nice in rigs and is cooled better. With gpu boost you get more performance because it will boost itself up to a certain temp. Not sure on oc because my 770 was pre overclocked.

This. Also, any component will last longer if it is kept cool.

That and watercooled multi GPU setups look so sexy

Its so it runs cooler, quieter, and can overclock higher. You don't need it to be running at 90c all the time (nor would you really want it to be).

Cooler GPU = Able to overclock higher as most GPUs are limited by temps first then voltages.

When the 900 Series comes out (or 800 series depending on performance difference from 780) I'm gonna get a full GPU water block for my x80 nvidia card and commit to water cooling both GPU and CPU. I'm only worried that I'll have to mod the crap out of my current case to make it work the way I want (HAF 932)
