Their whole "internet direct" thing is commendable and Schiit-esque, but there doesn't seem to be much noise about them online. This in itself doesn't mean anything, but given that they are in the same price range as competent headphones like HD558 and XPT100, they'd better be really good to stand out.

With that STATUS2016 code currently at the top of the website, that brings them down to $64 USD, the price range of the HD518. Although the HD518 is also good.

They seem like they have potential. I would be much more likely to try them if they provided measured frequency graphs, though.

The fact that they are having such a promotion suggests that they actually are marking up their products, which kind of undermines their main marketing line.

$60 is still enough for me to not go out of my way to try one, but if anyone wants to comment I'd love to hear. More variety at the low end is always good.

I feel the same way. Though I'm still debating on taking the plunge.

EDIT: A musician I follow on Youtube apparently got a pair, conveniently. He's doing a video soon. I don't know what pairs of headphones he uses or his experience, but he's a good producer so he may have a little bit of insight if any.

I'd love to see if anyone can point out the design similarities between their products and those other branded headphones. I know of two that looked like Beats and Parrot Zik.

There are those tech specs and sound signature graph on each product page but IDK how much information can you get out of it.

I've seen other brands that have a similar design to Audio Technica's ATH headphones. I think they do it on purpose to attract attention, or they just think the design was good on other headphones but looked tacky with the brand logos everywhere. I agree with both, personally.

The rest of the lineup looks like typical OEM parts. You can find any number of vaguely similar DJ/studio headphones for $15 or so that look like the ATH M-series, as mentioned.

The "innovative" pads on their imaginatively named CB-1 headphone look suspiciously like the ones on the Fostex TH X00. The OB-1 looks really familiar but I can't place it.

Well they never actually claim to get those headphones from the same manufacturers for other OEMs so I'm guessing those are just straight copies, but with the quality and decent warranty. Which one do you plan to get?

Let me guess. The OB-1 has the ATH M-series headband and the ear cups of Shure SRH1840

OB-1 if I decide to, probably. I'd like a pair of open-backs and if they're good I'll keep them.

Just if I decide to buy.

I looked them up and from what I saw the reviews for their headphones were decent, but the user-experience over on Reddit from what I DID see was abysmal. I'd sooner stick to the Monoprice 8323 if I wanted to cheap out.

I really do like their slogan and everything, but I just feel that somehow it's more for show and not actual in practice.

I'll try to see if I can find it among the slew of threads I was browsing, lol, the jist of what I got though was mixed reviews. To be honest though, who knows if they actually own the hardware and were just downing it to down it.

*EDIT*

Maybe I should have dug a little deeper, I can't find the thread where they were comparing the hd one to el-cheapo Walmart headphones, but from the rest of these posts it seems they may be doing something right,

But who knows,

Might have to grab a pair to test for myself of the OB-1 to see how I feel about them. At their price point though, they are pushing for other headphones in the same category that are renowned, their HD One's being at the price point of the CAL! for example.
