So I've never used a fan hub before. But I think I might need one to make my pc quieter. Currently it has most of the fans connected to molex running at full blast all the time because my motherboard didn't have enough fan headers. (My current solution is to keep the pc across the room from me and run cables across the room to my peripherals.) So how does a fan hub work? Does it just split the power from one fan header? Will it allow the computer to controll the speed of the fans? If so, what is a good one to get that will controll 4 fans? Thanks

Something like this might be exactly what you're after.

This is assuming your case has a 5.25" bay.

Is there anything a bit simpler out there? I don't neccesarily need the screen and manual control mechanisms. I just want something I can plug the fans into and plug into the motherboard, then leave it alone. Think maybe I could just get a bunch of splitters, daiseychain them and plug into one fan header?

http://www.phanteks.com/PH-PWHUB.html I've got one of these, haven't tried the PWM functionality but so far it works well. It'll use the fan in the white header for all it's control though, just an FYI.

That looks perfect actually. Think there will be any problems with lack of power if it's all coming out of one fan header though?

It's powered by SATA, most hubs use external power like that. Just make sure to connect the PWM control cable, otherwise it will assume you have the fans turned off.
