CPU cooler problems

Go to solution Solved by Jordaneer,
Ooh, you probably broke the seal and vacuum of the heat pipes, thereforefore not allowing them to work, so your kind of out of luck, you probably should get a low profile CPU cooler to replace that, but that evo is probably ruined now.

I have a i5-4690K and a Hyper Evo 212 on my computer. The fan on the CPU cooler spins very fast and it makes this very annoying sound when i am playing games. When the CPU gets around 74 degrees Celsius, it will start making the annoying sound. When the CPU gets around 80 degrees Celsius the fan will start spinning fast and make the annoying sound. around 1500 RPM. I am not sure what to do.

P.S. If you want to talk on Skype about my problem that will be very helpful. Thank you.

ru overclocking? have you/ or are you able to set a custom curve, have you mounted it properly? 80C is pretty hot

Are you running at stock? Whats your case airflow like? Is your case dusty? CPU fans do tend to get load when they're under a heavy load in order to stop your cpu from essentially dying. Looking at someone elses results with that cooler they achieved temperatures of 60*c under full load with a slight overclock.

yes I have the same cooler and CPU, and I get temps of around 55c when playing Battlefield 4 at ultra maxed out settings with three monitors no OC

how much thermal paste did you put on? When did you build the PC? And are you sure you mounted the cooler correctly?

Ouch yeah, that heatsink is done. You can see the holes in to two of the tubes, which since they're bent in a U shape through the base is half your cooling. The other ones I can't tell if they're compromised or not, but judging by your temps at least one is still working.

Sorry you had to learn the hard way on this one that they aren't just solid metal.
