Computer wont turn on

Go to solution Solved by Tmt97,

I found the problem. 24pin cable was dislodged by a tiny bit. It looked like it was plugged in but it was only halfway.

Was it a fresh install or a upgrade? and which version of windows?

Fresh install. Windows 10. I wasnt getting anywhere though. I was in bios trying to get it to boot from my usb. Then it crashed.

Edit: twas windows 8 actually. Sorry

Ok. Cool. So have you tried redoing everything? Rebuild the machine if you're able to. Take out the Ram modules (blow it with caned air if possible) and take out and replace your CPU in the socket making sure no dust is in there. Also unplug any peripherals or your GPU if you have one. Try booting with just your MOBO Video. If you have any other USB devices plugged in it could've tried to boot from one of those other things.

The system is new, and not a spot of dust anywhere. The motherboard has no onboard video. All peripherals and usb are unplugged. I dont think you understand. Its not trying to boot from usb. It cant boot at all. When i try to turn it on nothing happens. No fans starting up or anything, no video signal, no heat, just nothing. As i said i tried shorting the pins so its not the power button.

I understand I'm just offering my advice. Was it able to boot prior? or was this on the first install?

Also Try looking at ALL the capacitors on the board. See if any have visible burn marks OR if the round metal tops are raised. That will mean a capacitor is blown, most likely due to a faulty PSU and your will have to get it replaced. Also I would recommend checking the PSU or the cable you're using to power it.

Oh wow... Haha See checking the PSU is always a good first option :) Well Glad you got it working.
