Ok guys its new laptop time and I'm taking suggestions i'm thinking of a dell xps 13 or xps 15 any one got much experience with these or some other ideas. I have seen what Linus said about the xps 13 already so just seeing what other people are thinking.

I'm in Australia as far as the budget goes lets try to keep it under $2500aus and start there.

the xps15 was up to 2,3k euro

so we might have a budget of 2 grand

 

depending on your usage you could go for a clevo771

 

there are newer available with skylake cpu and 980m etc

a mate got 1 with an 6500k, 980M, 16GB 2133DDR4 RAM 500GB Crucial BX SSD, 1TB 7200rpm seagate HDD, 17" HD IPS Panel + Gsync for hm 2300 euro +3year warranty

he played AC syndicate maxed and other newer titles and with the rgb iluminated keyboard he works fine in the dark

I'd personally get whichever is more practical (suits daily use and doesn't break the bank), but if you plan to game moderately or what not you may want the higher end of the two.
