You need to specify on what IP address (you posted 'iPod address') you are referring to. If it's the public/WAN IP your modem/modem & router or the private IP of your computer(s).

 

For WAN IP, reboot modem/modem & router or make it request a new ip/change from ipv4 only to ipv4/ipv6, etc.

 

For LAN IP, router's DHCP server usually put lease time to 24 hours so easier to just put a static IP on the DHCP reservation. 

 

 

 

 

I don't think you can change your routers MAC address. Correct me if I am wrong but my friend had someone get his routers mac address and DOS him and even if he changed the IP he could still do it

 

You can change it one way or the other. WAN IP may be tied to an account so changing the WAN port's MAC Address didn't do anything or some process is telling him what the WAN IP your friend is using.

call your ISP, but if you have a dynamic IP just unplug your router for a few sec then plug it back in

go into settings. wifi. click the info button... hit forget this network... router should reassign an ip address once you connect again

Change your MAC Address via logging into your router and then reset the router.

You need to specify on what IP address (you posted 'iPod address') you are referring to. If it's the public/WAN IP your modem/modem & router or the private IP of your computer(s).

 

For WAN IP, reboot modem/modem & router or make it request a new ip/change from ipv4 only to ipv4/ipv6, etc.

 

For LAN IP, router's DHCP server usually put lease time to 24 hours so easier to just put a static IP on the DHCP reservation. 

 

 

 

 

I don't think you can change your routers MAC address. Correct me if I am wrong but my friend had someone get his routers mac address and DOS him and even if he changed the IP he could still do it

 

You can change it one way or the other. WAN IP may be tied to an account so changing the WAN port's MAC Address didn't do anything or some process is telling him what the WAN IP your friend is using.

ISPs give you dynamic IPs unless specified. For computer's IP, it's also dynamically obtained because windows default settings is to obtain one automatically; so are routers set to give out a range of IPs by default.

 

Changing router's WAN IP is by rebooting it, change its WAN settings to use IPv4 only from IPv4/IPv6 and vice versa, changing the WAN MAC address (not recommended as some ISPs bind accounts to MAC address like bandwidth usage, etc), and setting up static IP address. Suggestions are in order of most recommended to least recommended.
