Hard Drive Problem

marioleno23

My hard drive was not showing up in windows so I booted from it (It used to be my boot drive now I have an ssd) and it was extremely slow. When I booted from my ssd again it did not show up. Do I need a new drive?

Hey there marioleno23,

Can you see the drive in BIOS, Device Manager or Disk Management when you boot from your SSD? Have you tried swapping SATA cables or ports? Can you use it as a secondary drive on another computer?
I would suggest going to Disk Management and see if the drive has a letter assigned to it. Checking the drive's S.M.A.R.T. status with a tool provided by the manufacturer can give you some insights about its health. :) Post back with some test results.
