Hello everyone, I have a question regarding 1.65v 2400mhz ram. When I posted my system it said the ram was 1333mhz, I overclocked it to 2400mhz which is the stick's rated speed. Is there any difference between XMP mode and just straight up overclocking it to 2400mhz? If so, what happens?

Current Build: Core i7 4790k @ 4.6, Asus Maximus VII Hero, Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400mhz 8gb (2x4gb), GTX 980ti, NZXT Kraken X61, Fractal Define R5  EVGA Supernova B2 850w, Some 300gb hard drive.

I think XMP automatically selects selects the correct timings
