Hello guys i have one problem that i could not fix for 5 months ! (Have not oppend game for 5 months :(......

-Problem started when i upgrated my GPU from r7 250 to GTX 960
-My monitor is ASUS VW 192S and the native resolution is 1440x900p 16:10/75Hz MAX/Only VGA Analog
-With the R7 250 everything was fine,i could set the nattive res :D
-Upgrated to GTX 960 and than i realized that the gpu doesent have VGA port so i have to buy adaper DVI to VGA

PROBLEM:

-When i conected the gpu to the monitor for the first time i got black screen saying "OUT OF RANGE"and i had to set the res to min VGA 640 in bios
-Oppened Nvidia Control Panel and i could not find the nattive reolution that is 1440x900p of my monitor.Than i have reinstalled teh drivers but nothing...
-I had to put my resolution to (still using today) 1280x1024 60Hz because if i increase (the Hz too) i get flicker and the desktop look is so awful :(

SOLUTION:
-I thought that the monitor is too old and its broken.I have connecrted my monitor with my 2nd PC using VGA and the my monitor is recognized and ASUS VW 192s but on my GTX 960 the monitor was recognized like [Generic PnP Monitor] or sometimes like [Display Device on:VGA]
-So the monitor is okat but is the GPU broken !?
-No its not...I have conected with my FUEGO TV 1080p 60Hz using the VGA adapter/cable and i could select the nattive of the TV also tryed with HDMI and worked too.
-So if the GPU and the Monitor are not broken what is causing this problem ?

-If someone knows how can i fix this problem pls reply and help me :( I have changed 4 adapters, many cables and reinstalled the drivers more than 10 times....

Here is my PC spec if you need:

CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 3.20GHz

Which dvi port are you adapting? it's possible you're using an active adapter and that is causing the problems. Even if it works fine with the tv it may have problems with specific monitors.

Does your VGA cable have 15 pins? If not, try to find one that has, and try it again. :)

Why might this work? Well, I had a similar problem yesterday, and changing from a 14 (?) pin VGA cable to a 15 pin cable for some reason worked...

a review from the amazon page:

I bought one of these adapters too use in an eyefinity setup and i realised that the adapter was not fully wired to recieve plug and play information from my monitor (eg make and model and resolution information). This can make it difficult to setup in eyefinity mode because eyefinity require the monitors resolution information in the plug and play information (EDID).

This is most likely what's causing your problem. to circumvent it, go in the nvidia control panel and set up a custom resolution to match the maximum your monitor is capable of, then apply it. It should work. I had to do something similar to get my old crt monitor to work at full 1600x1200@75hz on my old gpu, probably for the same reason.

That's what happened to me too! Then I tried with a different (a 15 pin cable) and then it worked fine...
