Posted December 15, 2015 Hey all, Just rebuilt my computer (put it in a new case added a new cooler another HDD), and I get a "CPU Fan Error" on startup, I am assuming this is because I dont have a single fan plugged into the cpu fan header, am I right? I have a corsair H110i GTX, all the fans are spinning and I have control of them through corsair link (god forbid this cursed software). Anything I can do to get around this or do I need to plug something into the cpu fan header? Posted December 15, 2015 Doesn't the little Corsair logo light up? That's what the CPU fan header is used for on some CM coolers. Forgive me if I am wrong. Ryzen 5 1600 - GTX 980 Ti - Broke. Posted December 15, 2015 I might as well mention, that i one time got a CPU fan error because i accidentally plugged my CPU fan into cpu fan 2 slot, and left cpu fan slot 1 empty. The fan worked but it still gave me the cpu fan error because of this. I simply switched the which one i was connecting to. I think the H110i usues another mechanism, i am not sure though... I think there is an option in the bios to simply ignore the cpu fan, which you can turn on and then it will bood, at least thtat is how it worked for an old asus board i had. Just look thought the bios, sorry i dont really know the asus boads really well... Posted December 16, 2015 Author Alright solved! I didnt plug the PWM header into the mobo, I had plugged it into the case header instead. Easy fix took me about 30 seconds haha.
