I want to know what is most commonly better for running applications ram with more bandwidth or ram with a lower latency.

What type of applications prefer faster bandwidth / latency?

For example:

                            vs

Higher bandwidth is better for highly parallel applications, for example GPU work, or highly threaded programs like content creation applications.  Lower latency is better for everything else.

Even so, would the higher bandwidth compensate for the slower latency?

Would the 2nd ones linked be faster most of the time?

High bandwidth will only compensate if you are running an application that benefits from high bandwidth.  Unless you are doing one of the things I mentioned, I would stick to DDR3 1600.  RAM does not really affect performance to a noticeable degree anyway, except in very few situations.

you can always get 2400mhz underclock it 2000mhz and tighten up the timings (i personally can run my corsair vengeance lp rams at  2000mhz with cl10/cl11(only on summers) and i cant notice difference between 1333cl8-2000cl11 ,i can only notice it when i launch adobe premier pro or 3d max but for anything else 0 no difference)

but i would go for bandwidth 30$ extra + overclocking might worth it
