WD my passport 500GB file copping issue

I got this hard drive from my cousin a while back and he was complaining that it takes hours to copy a movie or just some simple files. Now that i have had it ive been trying for the past few months to get it to work and every test i run it says the drive is healthy but i still get the slow file transfers and some times it just sits there and says its copying files but never dose anything. Has anyone else had this problem with a WD my passport? Or dose anyone know how i can fix this problem? Any help will be awesome thanks

Well I suggest fixing the spelling error, Have you tried the drive with out the enclosure ? If you get it out I would suggest doing a complete format and then try, If that doesn't work then I am afraid the drive will have problems and is useless,
