Hey im currently thinking of upgrading my pc for some good gaming (only 1080) I already get fine fps for this but I am still upgrading and would like to know if replacing these certain parts would be an upgrade or not.

 

Im going from this Processor

AMD A8-5500

TDP: 65W

Operating speed: 3.2 GHz (up to 3.7 GHz turbo)

Number of cores: 4

Socket: FM2

Is this an upgrade? 

I am not sure because of the number of cores and the difference in brands I am also planning on overclocking

 

I am also going from my stock motherboard - MS-7778 (JasmineR)

I am currently using a R7 370 Gaming 4G GPU and will be getting the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan for the new cpu

the G3258 is an upgrade from the A8-5500 and if you overclock the G3258 you will see better perfomance all around, The H81M-E33 Motherboard from MSI is a great option for an upgrade from the current board you have as well 

 

Depending on your budget you may consider and i3 dual core with hyper threading as an option as well. You wouldnt have the option to overclock an i3 but the hyper threading would really help with some games
