Absolutely. Stock thermal paste is almost always complete and total bull shrimp. Use some of that IC Diamond. Don't use too much; just an uncooked grain of rice.

Oh, and you may want to check with the manufacturer to make sure that removing the heatsink doesn't void your warranty. Unless, like Linus and Luke and the modding community and I, you enjoy voiding warranties...
