I'm not sure how many people have heard of Gary Kildall, he was an instrumental figure in the history of the personal computer. He founded Digital Research, Inc. and created the operating system CP/M (he also co-presented the Computer Chronicles; 1983-1990). It’s amazing to think how altered the computer world would be now if events had played out differently. Here are some links which are an interesting read:
