Video streaming and gaming

Hello guys, just wondering if a 10 mbit connection is enough for 1 user to stream video like netflix or tv on demand and the other user (me) to game with not too much lag or if I can limit the other user to reduce the lag.

What is your download speed, and upload?

 

If you're streaming 720p @30fps on a 10mb upload, you should be able to get by with a netflix stream running on the same line.

Well I dunno yet but we are moving to a place that only has ADSL which is usually 8-10 megabits.

Yes, should be enough.  Netflix content usually caps out at around 5800Kbps, which is slightly more than half your total download bandwidth.

Until you run a speedtest at the property you can't determine if it'll be up to the job or not. And i personally never go by the term "megabits" when referring to internet speed. I wanna see some damn numbers
