Lag in games

Go to solution Solved by boboman342,

Never update notebook gpu drivers please. Use DDU and reinstall the specific drivers from your laptop manufactures website for the Intel and AMD graphics.

Is your cpu throttling? Specific manufactures can make a standard cpu throttle at any temperature they deem necessary. Using a program like Throttle Stop and unchecking the BD PROCHOT should allow your i5 4200U to run its full turbo speeds until hitting your manufacture defined thermal limit.

Hi guys!

So.. I have a problem. There is a game called Gigantic. It is still in closed beta, I played the game on my notebook to see if it can handle it. When I launch the game everything went fine, but when i'm in a match the game begins to lag. I get massive lag spikes in the game like every 3-7 seconds. I lowered the settings of the game and thought the problem would be solved. But it still didn't solve anything. Then I thought it could be my internet but that wasn't the problem at all. I looked to my CPU usage and RAM usage, they were both normal. So the last thing I did was updating the drivers of my GPU and launched the game again. But still nothing has changed. I thought it was the game itself because it's still in closed beta so the next thing I did was playing another game like SMITE and Battlefield 4. Everything was normal until (again) I was placed in a match. Also in those games i got massive lag spikes and teleportations. I still can't find out what the problem is. Here is a link of the intro of the tutorial that I've recorded:

My notebook specs:

Intel Core i5 4200U (2.90GHz)

8GB RAM
AMD Radeon R7 M260
1TB HDD

All my games were running fine before, but now most of them are running horribly making it hard to play. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Thanks in advance!!

Hey, The problem has been solved. What I did was using MBAM (Malwarebytes) to check if there was any malware on my pc. It detected 73 malware threats. I deleted them and uninstalled the drivers of my GPU using DDU. I reïnstalled them again from the manufacturers website and the problem was solved. Thank you!!
