Hi possible saver,

First the problem; I haven't been able to get to the password screen to actual get to the desktop. I press power button, all is well until just before the place I would usually put in my password. The default blue wispy windows background comes ups but the. The screen just flickers, constantly. And the curser has the loading animation above it. I've left it for 5 minutes flickering, buy nothing changed. It does this every boot.

Specs:

I have a dell Insperion one, and AIO, I have had a second screen hookled up recently, a good 10 days. Plz help, let me know if u need more info. Thanks, BR7

Try with just one screen and see what happens.

After this, try with the other screen ON ITS OWN and see what happens.

This will narrow down whether it's an issue with just one monitor or a problem with both monitors being used at the same time.

If the issue persists after this, post back here with results and we'll go from there.

Hope this helps :)

Try booting into safe mode? Could be a driver issue.

Thanks both for suggestions. But neither have worked. I tryed safe mode, but no, still came to the same point, and dos the same thing.

And on the topic of the screen, nothing else flickers at any point, and I can't test running the other screen cause my pc's an All In One, basically a massive iPad

It could be an integrated graphics card issue. Does it flicker on BOTH screens or just the main screen?

If its just the main screen then check these:

  • Cable connected to the Screen from the MOBO
  • Cable connected to the MOBO from the screen... LOL
  • Make sure there are no broken or scratched lines on the mobo

It could be a bad screen. Under warranty maybe?

So I'm back from school and all good things, I've double checked the motherboard and from my observation, nothing's wrong there.

Well unfortunately if your second monitor you have connected does not flicker and your main screen does, it seems it has to do with the screen in your AIO. I have a laptop that has done that, more than one as i do some IT helping for people around my area, and it is probably a bad screen or cable going to the screen. More likely the screen.

Can you video what is happening when you turn it on?
