I want to get this laptop

The HDD is of course cheaper

Would i be able to buy my own and replace the HDD or am i stuck paying the $200 more for the HDD and SSD?

Pretty sure its kinda like a barebones, w/e u need they just put it in, my guess is that if you get the one with no SSD, that slot would probably be empty and you could probably squeeze one in.

You could replace the HDD for an SSD yes

It doesn't seem likely. It looks like a sealed design, similar to a Macbook Pro. 

 

? You can open the macbook pro and swap memory and storage though lol...

Not exactly i was hoping i could take the HDD out and maybe replace the HDDs spot with the SSD. Maybe an adapter since SSDs are much smaller too. (point is i want my DVD drive)

You can open a MacBook to remove the battery, RAM, HDD/SSD, disk drive, etc... Hell, you can even remove the entire mainboard and coolers.
