SSD Caching questions:

So, I have a spare SanDisk 64GB Ultra Plus SSD laying around that I want to put to use. I want use it for HDD caching and I need to know two things:

 

1. How would I go about doing this? My specs are in my signature.

 

2. Will I lose the data on the 1TB drive?

First you need to set your SATA controller in BIOS is RAID mode.

Second You need to install windows in RAID mode. If the OS is already installed in ACHI and then you change the It to raid, YOU WILL GET A BSOD!

During installation it will ask you for RAID drivers.

Download it here. Agree and download https://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23060/eng/f6flpy-x64.zip〈=eng&Dwnldid=23060&ProductID=2101&ProductFamily=Software+Products&ProductLine=Chipset+Software&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Rapid+Storage+Technology+(Intel%C2%AE+RST)

After completing installation download the intel rapid storage technology software from your motherboard manufacturers websites. 

Follow the options within the software to accelerate your drives.

Is you hard drive your primary drive? Is your os in it? You would be better of installing the os entirely on the SSD. And use hard drive for other data.

No. My HDD has all my games on it. I have my OS on a 120GB SSD.
