I recently had a modem switched to a docsis 3 and for some reason now, i can only get internet access when i'm running direct from the modem and not through my router. I've tried 3 different routers and each had the same issue with getting no internet access. Am i missing something?

if you needed to know, it's the Moto Surfboard sb6141

Nah no Comcast here :/ would love to have access to better upload. Lol I have Service Electric out here in the boonies of Pennsylvania. Have their max business package of a whopping 35/2 XP.

The issue isn't so much with the modem as I can run direct from the modem to the nic without an issue. Its only when I run through a router I get problems.

Been thinking since the modem port is gigabit, maybe it's not dumbing down to the older routers' 100 meg port and not being able to grab an ip.

Thoughts?

No, that's not the issue.

Try putting the modem into bridge mode, and then see if the router will connect.

What's the exact model of the modem?

15" MBP TB

AMD 5800X | Gigabyte Aorus Master | EVGA 2060 KO Ultra | Define 7 || Blade Server: Intel 3570k | GD65 | Corsair C70 | 13TB
