Hello everyone, I'm trying to build a new PC and I've been out of the game for like 7 years, mostly buying gaming laptops, but I'm finally settling down and I want to build myself a new tower for my gaming room, there's a lot of new things out there that weren't last time I built one (in like 2008). So I would like to know what you guys think would go best with what I'm trying to build or if I should change something. So the main concerns are as listed:

1) Case: So I saw Linus using the MasterCase Pro 5 in a lot of videos and I liked it, I like the sideview window.

2) Processor: I was going to go for the i7-4790k, but I saw the new i7-6700k and decided to go with that because I don't plan on upgrading it in a couple of years, so i want to futureproof for a while.

3) RAM: I went with the Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4*8GB), this were the better ones I saw with a reasonable price.

4) Mobo: Asus Z170 Deluxe ATX, I saw some videos on it, while I'm not a hardcore OCer, I'd like to give the one click OC thing a chance, also, I like that it has intergrated Wi-Fi.

Those are the ones I've selected so far, after that I'm not sure on what should I get because I have some doubts and lack of knowledge on this things.

Frist: I was thinking on using a Samsung EVO or Pro SSD but while looking at the Mobo I saw something I'd never seen before, the Hyper M.2 x4 card, now I did some digging and found out what it was and how it works and stuff, so what I'm not sure is if I should go for a regular SSD (I also saw the new Intel 750 Series) or a PCI-E SSD or use the Asus Hyper card and get an NVMe. I don't know what's better or if the performance difference is worth the price rise of them. Also, I was thinking of maybe doing a RAID 0 setup and I don't know if I could achieve that with the PCI-E's (something new to me also).

Second: I've been having a hard time deciding on which GPU to use, there's so many variations of them this days it's so confusing, I would like to know if it's better to get a 980ti or do a 980 or 970 SLI setup, like I said, I want to do a futureproof setup so I don't know if I should just get 1 980Ti now and in the future when needed get a second one and do Sly on those, I don't really know what's the performance difference here. Also I see they sell now some OC'ed GPUs from retail, don't know if that would be a better option or not.

Third is the Power Suply, now I know this depends on how the setup will end with the GPUs and stuff but I was thinking going something like the Corsair RM 850.

Fourth: I would like to do a water cooling setup, I've never had one but always wanted to, I was looking at the Corsair H100i, or maybe one where I can change the water color.

Finally I don't know any good, not very expensive monitors preferably with G-Sync.

Thank you all for reading this long post, I'm sorry for that, I just have a lot of doubts and would like some opinios so I can decide.

And thank you in advanced for the tips and opinios.

Have a great day!

Don't do RAID 0 with ssd. Real world performance is as good or better with a single drive.

Why do you want 32GB of memory?

If you are concerned about budget, the Z170 Deluxe is not a good choice.

M.2 4-lane PCIe drives are nice. Will not make a huge difference in a mostly gaming systems, but if budget is not an issue or one runs more storage intensive applications like editors, is probably worth the premium.

For longevity I would suggest a GTX 980 Ti. Add a second one when more gpu power is needed.

I steer clear of the Corsair RM series. The competition is much better. Around 850W arguably the best value is the EVGA 220-G2-0850-XR. If one goes the GTX 980 Ti route, an 850W psu is the right capacity to allow for a second gpu, overclocking, and aging. If one goes with an AMD gpu, a 1000W psu would be necessary to allow for Crossfired gpu.

The Corsair H110i GTX or H100i GTX are good closed loop cpu coolers. One might also consider the Nzxt Kraken X61 and Swiftech H240-X. A custom cooling loop is a significant undertaking and would add considerably to the required budget.

Don't buy a cheap monitor. It is, after all what you will be staring at for many, many hours. Besides, g-sync monitors are not inexpensive. If you want to lust after a monitor take a look at the ROG SWIFT PG279Q.

So should I go for a single 512GB Samsung SSD and add a mechanical one for storage? I mostly use for gaming and multimedia viewing.

I was thinking 32GB so I won't run short anytime soon, should I just go 16GB(2*8) and add later if needed?

I can do the EVGA PSU, I doubt I'll go AMD ever, I've always been a Intel/Nvidia fan over AMD/ATI.

Which would you recon is best between the 3 water coolers? Is any better than the other? I like the Swiftech design, would look nice. I don't want to risk a custom cooling loop on my first time with water cooling. Don't want to mess anything up.

And that's the monitor I was looking at, just thought there might be a equal quality/lower price option.

Thank you for your input!

A Samsung 850 EVO 500GB ssd is an excellent choice.

2x8GB is more than enough. And it does leave one with space for an upgrade.

Nice thing about the Swiftech is that it is designed such that one can expand it into a custom loop later - go with clear tubing and colored coolant, add gpu to the loop, etc. Not so nice thing is that it is tough to find. Any one of the coolers will do a good job.
