I decided to go ahead and purchase a Steam Link, so I'm excited to try that out when it arrives. I put a powerline connection to my PC up two flights of stairs pretty much for this reason. I'm not getting Gigabit, I'm only getting 100 Megabit until I decide to swap out my powerline adapters for ones with a Gigabit port.

On a side note, do not buy the TP-Link AV500 TL-PA411. It advertises 500 Mbps through powerline, but it only has a 100 Mbps network interface. The TL-PA511 has a Gigabit port, so if you can, get that instead. But, the Steam Link only has a 100 Mbps interface anyway, so this is more of a local network issue rather than an issue with the implementation of this solution SPECIFICALLY for the Steam Link. But, I'm getting off track...

LTT's video on Steam in-home streaming show that streaming bandwidth is capped to around 30 Mbps, which may or may not be enough for some graphically intensive games when running 1080p @ 60 fps (something my hardware would have no problem running locally).

Does anyone know if that bandwidth cap is still in place or have they increased it?

Thanks for the help.
