Hey guys :)

So I recently built my computer last week and I came to find out that my PC wasn't working. I made sure all my cables were plugged in correctly, but my computer would not turn on at all. I assumed it was my power supply at first because the fan wouldn't even turn on. Before I sent it back in, my dad told me about the paperclip method to test out if my PSU was actually dead. I inserted both ends of a paperclip into the 15 and 16 pins of a 24-pin connector, and the fan started spinning. That's when I thought that I probably didn't have all the cables connected securely. I took my PSU and put it back, making sure that ALL the cables were connected correctly and turned it on, but it still wouldn't turn on. I'm thinking that it's my mobo that's dead, but then again, I'm no PC expert. This is my first time building, so it really could be anything. Any help would be appreciated. <3

If you care to know what my parts are, here's the list:

Thanks!

Connect Mobo to PSU, Put CPU in, put 1 stick of ram in. Put CPU fan on. short the start pins and see if anything happens.
If not, and you're sure PSU is okay, probably a dead Mobo.

EDIT: -Do you know how to connect the start pins?
-Did you install MoBo standoffs to not short out your board?
