Don't cheap out on your motherboards when you put a FX x3xx monster in it, the vishera architecture is a colossal strain on VRM's/Chokes.

Hey ltt

I've had the PC for over a year now, and added an SSD about 3 mo ago which had problems freezing, but are now (resolved?).

MOBO: 970A-G43
CPU: FX 4300
GPU: GTX 750ti Asus
RAM: 8GB corsair 1333 MHz
Storage: PNY ssd, WD HDD, Hitachi HDD, 120gb, 320gb, 320gb respectively

I started noticing problems when i installed Payday 2 via Steam. Everything just froze, and i couldn't move the mouse or do anything.
It was strange because when I unplugged my Xbox 360 afterglow controller from it, the whole pc just shut off(like yanking the power cable out)

It happened again, specifically with Payday 2, and but the controller was fine this time.. Which was strange too because i was able to play a couple of hours of the game afterwards.

Then, during CS:GO, about 2 days ago, it did it again, just freezing in the middle of a deathmatch.

I wanted to know what was happening. I power cycled the PC. Turning it on, the hard drive light would blink, and stop, and none of my peripherals would work.
No message came up either on the monitor. Just the fans, and power light on the PC. Nothing from the BIOS, not even a black screen to display on the monitor.

Fortunately, this issue is SOMETIMES resolved when I turn I turn it off and on again (heh) a second time.
I am completely able to use the PC when it is on, without a freeze (thus far)

Troubleshooting:
I checked the PC temps, and at idle the CPU ranges from 40-55 Celcius.

The GPU is at a comfortable temp as well, at around 40-50.
Under prime95 the temps aren't concerning either.

I opened up the case and found that a heatsink on the motherboard was rather hot to the touch after turning off the power (though i may just be mistaken)
I turned on the PC just now and it's still not loading anything, just the same, powered on, emptiness.

Could it be the PSU? The MOBO? The RAM? I don't have any spare parts to test with, as this is my only rig.
I don't think i have malware of any kind because I have commonsense.exe (also ran malwarebytes. I just browse reddit and play steam)
What should I do?

EDIT 1: The power button is also unresponsive to turning off the PC when it's on, but not booted

To be fair, that's only the 8320 and up.

8320E or lower is just fine.

8320E or lower is just fine.

It happens on FX 6350/6300 and the 4350/4300.

Its not the cores its the architecture that causes it, I had a email conversation with an ASRock rep and he confirmed.

FX 8320E/8350E is a joke of a processor, of course it doesn't happen on there. They just nerfed the clock speed and BLCK so it doesn't suck as much power as an ordinary 8350.
