So my parents are paying for 50mbps internet speed and they are able to exceed that with a wired connection. However, the maximum I get with my wireless connection is 25, and most of the time its below 10. My internet is usually really terrible and I'm unable to play games like CSGO online without getting less than 200 ping, unless nobody else is using the internet. I think that this problem can be solved by getting a new wireless adapter? If so, this is the adapter I'm using right now, and I'm just looking for a cost effective upgrade that will let me play games online without having to wait until everyone gets off the internet. :)

Try and pick up a usb extension cable (if you don't already have one) and move the dongle around within the cable length to see if you can get better signal.

On my rig at home, a 2 inch change in dongle position results in a 50-75% reduction in reception.

My friend actually has one, I'll borrow it maybe and see if that helps.
