Graphics card power

ok so my graphics card got here and i put in the pci slot and pluged in the cabled and powered on and them it says on computer shut off then plug in pci cables but i have all of the cabled plugged in what am i missing

i checked my psu and found a unpluged cabel that is label perif and i put it in the sata power port on the psu and it fit

What about the power supply end? Are they firmly seated in the PSU?
