Help with motherboard

Hi, I recently bought the parts for my first build. Ive installed everything and my motherboard (Maximus impact VI z87 board) has refused to boot to bios or windows. I have plugged in only my motherboard, 24 pin, 8 pin (CPU) and HDMI cables/ with my cpu installed. I have tried this without a hard-drive and with an SSD with windows on it. Neither have worked.

 

The system turns on but the Q-code 2A (IDE DETECT) shows and the LED (BOOT_DEVICE_LED) also turns on.

I havent tried this wth a keyboard plugged in which might change things, other than that, im screwed and way out of my depth.

 

 

Ive plugged it into a monitor, bu the monitor just blinks and turns off again when i try and boot. My next step is to try and boot to bios outside of the case. 

 

If this doesnt work im just going to buy a simple board and try from their.
