Hey guys,

Having issues overclocking my graphics card, I have a gigabyte g1 gaming 980ti, and according to the internet and elsewhere, you are supposed to be able to achieve about a 1400-1500mhz.

This is what I am able to achieve without touching the voltage: Overclocking%20results_zpsvqy8y2sk.jpg

I can put the frequency to 1400hm and put the offset min voltage all the way to max and it doesn't crash in fire strike, however I get a much lower score which is really weird?

Can someone tell me if I am doing something wrong or any tips?

I tried to use MSI afterburner, but it doesn't work on windows 10.

some cards just dont overclock very well also try and remove the memory overclock and just do the core clock and see if it will go higher because you might be hitting the power limit

Hey, I have that same card! I get to 1379mhz on oc guru, but the boost 2.0 will take the card to its max potential based on your settings. When I run gpu-z in the back ground and tell it to record the max it shows the card hitting 1525mhz!! My Firestrike score hit 17805. It's running at 71C so I'm happy. It kicks ass on all my games and renders like a boss! I didn't understand it either but ultimately it's the end performance that counts!

What you need to do is use afterburner cause it does work on win 10 I just clocked my 970 +200 core and +125 ram. Right so on afterburner turn the power limit and voltage to Max then add 100 to core leaving ram alone and run something like valley benchmark. Repeat this adding 100 till you crash then dial back in 50 or 25 till it doesn't and you don't get too much screen tearing the odd one is fine. Then add 50 to ram and go from there. Running the benchmark then if no crashes add more but don't put more than 150 on ram id say cause they aren't cooled well. Then after all that run valley and leave it for a good hour or two watch it and watch YouTube videos on your phone till your happy there's no crashes after that you should get better results if you still get screen tears turn the core down by 5 at a time till you don't. Hope this helps

Thank you for that!, ill download MSI afterburner now and give it a crack.

Hmm tried what you said, i think my card doesn't like a high voltage or something, i dont know. I did what you said and i put the core clock to around 300 more, and it didn't crash but i was getting a score of 8000...... lowered it by 100, same thing, again..same thing. My asic quality is 75 percent, which means that maybe i shouldn't be playing with the voltage too much.

I dont know really, i give up, im happy with the card anyway, just would have liked to get more performance out of it for free, oh well.
