Right now I have my 4790k at 4.8Ghz @ 1.28v

I want the CPU to run at 4.4Ghz @ 1.15v when it's not at full load

Anyway to do this?

Because right now my fans have to spin at higher than I would like everytime I open a file.

Keep in mind im using a 212 evo

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

Doesn't it always do that?

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

In windows I think you can adjust the power management settings to something like eco, balanced and performance. Try setting it to balanced if not already, if that doesn't work then try eco :)

I fix computers and computer accessories... sometimes... when I want to...

with gigabyte you need to use a voltage offset in order for the core voltage to drop under idle conditions when overclocked

Mainboard Asrock Z170 OCF CPU 6700k RAM Tridentz 3600 HDD Intel 730 240gb GPU GTX 780ti sc acx PSU Silverstone Strider 1200W  Case Antec 900 Laptop Lenovo Thinkpad T520 build log-   http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/35809-antec-900-the-re-birth-of-a-legend/ Check out the Tech Center https://www.youtube.com/user/prokon24/videos LTT's Unicore King

And I do that how?

the 3rd optopm, base clock, thats the speed when idle, set it to what even you want ^^

I want the voltage to change

the clock changes automatically

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

what if he eanbles intel smart step-up which automaticaly synchronises clock speed and voltage.

(my 4690k runs 4.6GHz @1.15V and when i'm using light load 800MHz@0.98V

Offset vcore is the best answer it scales voltage and speed to what u require from it and 4.8 being ur max

AMD (and proud) r7 1700 4ghz-

also (1600)

asus rog crosshairs vi hero x370-

MSI 980ti G6 1506mhz slix2 -

h110 pull - acer xb270hu 1440p -

 corsair 750D - corsair 16gb 2933

wat...

Only issue is core #1 gets a bit toastier than I like. Still in the safe margin though.

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

do this to have not full voltage all the time:

enable intel smart step-up in the bios and watch the magic.

PS Voltage must be set to manual if you want for it to peak at what you put in, otherwise it will be lower.

would this auto go to the voltage needed for 4.8ghz?
