Internet connection weirdness

Go to solution Solved by PixlRabt,

So apparently my problem was fixed by unistalling the Asus Driver for my Asus PCE-AC56. Without the Asus driver it defaulted to a Microsoft Broadcom 802.11 AC Network Adapter Driver and bam. No problems whatsoever. Does that make sense? Because it certainly doesn't to me...

Hello internet's,

So I have a recurring problem that has happened now with two different modem/routers and two different wireless adapters, where my desktop will say it's connected to the wireless, but will not load a website but site a dns probe finished no internet error. When it does load pages it's very very slow, but programs that utilise internet (Skype, spotify) never connect. I've tried everything under the sun that I've found in my research about this problem. I also have tried a laptop to connect to the WiFi and that doesn't work either. Same dns problem. However, my Xbox one and HTC and all the other phones and tablets in my house work beautifully with the internet. It's just the PC's that seem to have a problem.

Any ideas?

That last point you made might be the key.  I feel like this (based on your evidence) is caused by something specific to the computers, perhaps a setting somewhere.  We can also eliminate application specific settings though since you said many programs have this issue.  You say you've tried everything but it might be useful to know what specific internet settings and options on your computer you've changed that might be relevant.

Sometimes options in this window are all it takes to make or break the internet :)

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Just making sure that DNS and IP retrieval were set to Auto, then DNS Flushing in CMD followed by ipconfig /release and then ipconfig /renew. These were all I could find on various forums for people who were experiencing similar situations.
