Hey Guys!

I'm still a somewhat inexperience builder, and i got all my parts in today and i got a bit overzealous and decided building right away. i've built pc's before and wanted to post my parts before putting it into my case, and when i flipped the switch to my PSU, nothing happened. The onboard activity monitor (the green LED on the ASUS Z97-E) was on, but i didn't see the fans spinning on my graphics card or on the PSU itself.

I also didn't have my monitor handy this time around, i just wanted to see if things worked so i can get my monitor in the morning and go straight to building.

i also wore an anti static wrist strap the whole time.

Thanks for the help in advance !

Did you short the power pins or press the power button so the parts would turn on?

I was also thinking that it may have passed post and it might just be the fact i didn't have a display on, but wouldn't atleast the graphics card fans start spinning or the PSU fan?

Also, i didn't put on any fans into the fan headers. Would that cause an issue?

Not necessarily. Depends on the features of your video card and PSU. Some don't spin up the fan until there's a load and cooling is needed.

Does the CPU have a fan?

Even if not, it wouldn't overheat that quickly and cause your symptom.

It may very well not be starting up, but I'd surely want to see it with a monitor connected.
