I'm getting a GTX 950 for my main GPU. I'm also tempted to get a Quadro 600 or Quadro FX 1800 for CS6. Few things: Would the GTX 950 be better for editing and is it possible to configure After Effects and Premire to use the Quadro for rendering and editing while using the GTX 950 to drive my displays? Based off this screenshot, it looks like I could configure After Effects to use the Quadro for Cuda. Also, should I get the FX 1800 or the Quadro 600? I know that the Quadro 600 has more VRAM but the FX 1800 has more Cuda cores.

With the money for those two you could get an r9 290 - which is an opencl powerhouse. Should be faster than both the 950 and the quadro for editing, you only really want quadros if you're doing cad or need that ecc vram.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

As far as I know, it's possible to run two gpus from different families at the same time, doing different things, although I'm not sure how it'll work for you. My brother uses a gtx970 for gaming, accompanied by but not SLI'd with a gtx560 which is used for physx. You can run both gpus imo, but don't just take it from me [emoji14]

Maybe I'll just get the R9 290. :D

The cheapest r9 290 I saw was 275$ - 10$ cheaper than a 950 + quadro k600. Even if it was just the 950, I'd say it's worth 100$ more since it's more than twice as fast in computing.
