onboard chip settings

App4that

I was in my Bios just now and saw that you can disable the on board graphics chip in the i5. Is there any benefit to doing so or should I leave it be?

If anyone asks you never saw me.

doesn't it automatically disable itself when it detects a pci-e videocard?

Nope, mines still functioning. I haven't had any problems so not sure how to proceed. Guess I could disable it and turn it back on if I have a problem.

i mean like

if you want to use the onboard graphics, you plug your monitor to the motherboard

if you want to use your dedicated graphics, you plug it to the videocard.

the system will automatically switch to the dedicated. no need to disable it. oorrr you can jsut disable it, it probably won't change anything tho

I just found it odd the graphics chip was running, I have voltage and speed readings. Not sure what it's doing. I'm thinking NSA. Disabling now. *Joke sign*
