Microphone background noise.

Strike1st

Hello folks,

I am pretty much ignorant and new when it comes to sound and sound recording.

I am trying to increase the quality on my of my video recording by removing background noise.

I have bought an Audio-Technica AT2020USB PLUS Cardioid Condenser USB Microphone based on many reviews that swear by this thing.

http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-AT2020USB-PLUS-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B00B5ZX9FM/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1442225087&sr=8-1&keywords=audio+technica+at2020%2B+usb

And what a surprised. After getting it, I still didn't get a better quality sound recording even when my room is completely silent. I have turned off my AC/ and turned off PC fans I can still noticeably hear background noise. The only way I managed to remove background noise is by using Audacity and remove the noise manually "which also reduce the sound quality by a noticeable amount." I thought maybe my mic was defective so I tried different brands to see if they work and all have the same problem. Background noise.

My question is that is there a way to remove noise with a  hardware solution?

if not, is there a software that bypass windows which remove noise without me having to edit them?

Also. If I'm doing live streaming, how to remove background noise since I don't have the option of editing the video?

Final question what mic would you suggest that have a high sound quality + eliminating background noise?

I know I am asking for a book here but I keep googling and no useful information "or probably i'm just bad at understanding" to be found.

What do you define as "background noise"? Is that like a humming or static? or you just pick up on everything going on around you?

Sounds like your gain is up too high, https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht073424?tabName=Solutions look down to step 7 and below, check and make sure your microphone boost isn't up super high, basically when your gain is up too high it's amplifying the input signal from your microphone, and when this happens electrical noise (humming, static, etc) is effectively amplified as well making all that interference audible... You might also try keeping your audio cables separate or on the complete opposite side of any power cables as far away as possible.
